Hey Bill,

Was any update given on Rubstov injury and if he's out for a while.....I noticed he didn't play again last night.

Is picking between 9th and 13th is going to make that much of a difference?

It could be an issue if they fall back too far, depending on who you like. The other part of it is lottery odds. Their chances of jumping into the top 3 more than double (13 to 9)

Why is Ryan Muray a healthy scratch? He was a #2 overall pick, which apparently means he's a lock for the HOF.

Not ideal. But they have plenty of ammo to move up if they like someone

Isles Pens game was fantastic. Ho Sang getting booed all the time made it even better. Beauvilliers shootout move was so dirty too. Isles were on the bad end of a goalie interference challenge too

Exactly. Barring a miracle, they aren't going to finish ahead of Toronto, the Isles, or Boston. So, even if they finish strong, they are only going to be rewarded by picking 14th. Not really sure why folks can't seem to understand that ending up in the 9th spot is better than ending up 13th or 14th. Your lottery odds are significantly better, you stand a greater chance of getting a better player and, if you want to move up, it's a lot easier to do with the 9th pick in play, rather than 13 or 14.

Man, you'd think it was rocket science.

But then people who say well I trust the scouting department to do their job and make a good pick, it would make sense to pick at 9 rather than 13 to give them that many more options to actually make a good pick.

On the other hand it would be nice to see them finish strong and some players return to their norms. Would help to provide some promise of a better year next season.

I trust the scouting dept who have 2 players who would be considered first round talent in re-drafts as of now (per Bill's opinion who I value) in Myers and Lindblom who were undrafted and 5th round picks respectively. Obviously 9 is better than 13 and honestly as tough as their schedule is it wouldn't surprise me to see them end up drafting 10th

Haha but they would've drafted them higher if they expected them to look this good.

I have confidence in the flyers drafting as well, but better picks help
